It understands three languages, talks to your cell phone, has a high definition color touch screen, keeps you comfortable inside and lets you know the weather outside.
“Thermostat” somehow seems inadequate to describe this piece of digital wizardry, so manufacturer Honeywell calls it a “Prestige HD Comfort System.”
Despite the advanced features, this seven-day thermostat is surprisingly easy to program – at least on Honeywell's promotional video.
Touch the menu tab, one of four choices on the large, bright screen and a series of selections displays. Select edit/schedule and the screen displays a string of user friendly questions such as: “When does the first person in your home get up?” Based on your answers, the thermostat programs itself. If you have questions, you can access the interactive user manual right on the thermostat screen.
With the wireless remote control, you can read -- and adjust -- the temperature, humidity and air quality from anywhere in the house. Worried about the house being too hot or cold while you're away? You can monitor and control your home HVAC system via a PC, smart phone or tablet and Wi-Fi.
The thermostat controls temperature, humidity and filtration systems inside the house. It can also display the temperature and humidity outdoors, just so you know what you're missing while relaxing in your climate controlled home.
Honeywell recommends professional installation.
