Learn more about Dimplex North America, Ltd.:
by Rosemary Thornton, contributing editor
High tech has reached America's hearthland with a new generation of electric fireplaces. Gone are the orange lightbulbs and crinkly tinfoil backdrops that made the appliances of the 1960s a poor substitute for the real deal.

LED lighting and a patented 3D technology replicates the look of burning firewood in the Vienna Electric Fireplace from Dimplex. It can also produce real heat without the need for venting. The 1,500 watt heater provides about 5,100 BTUs, enough to heat 400 square feet of living space.

The Vienna has a few bonuses that you won't find on a traditional firebox, including a built-in air filter and fully digital remote control.
