Learn more about Quietside Corporation:
by Rosemary Thornton, contributing editor
Massive old manses lose their charm when it's time to pay massive heating bills. A new, high-efficiency tankless boiler might ease of pain of heating season whether you own a mansion or a modest ranch.

Quietside's Dual Purpose Water Heater has easy-to-use digital controls to set the water temperature for central heating and domestic hot water. The suitcase-sized, wall-mount boiler can even bypass the central heating system to act as a space heater, providing a quick blast of heat into a single room.

Using dual heat exchangers, micro processors, modulation gas valves and other high tech wizardry, the tankless boiler is more than 90 percent efficient and carries an Energy Star label.

Water is heated on demand (as it passes through the heat exchangers) so no energy is wasted maintaining a 40-gallon tank of hot water.

Exhaust gases are recirculated through the heat exchanger repeatedly, until they're cool enough to be exhausted through a PVC pipe.

A digital controller with backlit display allows you to adjust the temperature on both domestic hot water and boiler temps to a max of 140 degrees (domestic) and 180 degrees (boiler).

You'll need an experienced pro to install this system.
