A large viewing window is front and center in the Shaker wood stove from Wittus.

The black steel stove embraces the concept of simple functionality that defines Shaker style.

The stove comes in two configurations. The short table model, pictured here, has a shelf under the door. A bench that can be used as fireside seating extends to the side in the long table model. Choose from left or right side loading door.

Like many of this company's wood stoves, the Shaker is meant to burn small amounts (2 to 4 pounds) of wood at a time. The stove can throw off a maximum of 20,000 BTUs per hour and heat up to 1,330 square feet of space, although a small firebox means frequent tending.

This is not a workhorse overnighter or whole house stove. But if what you're after is a small, stylish stove to add warmth and atmosphere to a room, the Shaker is worth a look.
