Learn more about Yolo Colorhouse:
by Deborah Holmes, Ebricks.com
Nutritionists are imploring us to add colorful vegetables to our diets. Turns out they're not so bad for our walls, either.

This colorful palette takes its inspiration from garden vegetables. And its good for the enviroment especially in your home.

Yolo paint, available at Home Depot nationally, is free of volatile organic compounds and other air pollutants. It is scrubbable and resists mold and mildew. Nealy odor free, the paint is 100 percent acrylic latex and can be used on walls and trim.

The eggshell finish with its slightly reflective sheen can be washed with common household cleaners.

Coverage is 350 to 400 square feet per gallon.

Yolo paint is approved by Green Seal, an independent nonprofit group that tests and certifies products and services, and by Eco Option, Home Depot's seal of environmental friendliness.

It compares in price to other good quality paints, at $36 per gallon. For $3.99 you can order a poster sized paint sample that can be moved around a room to guage color in different light.
