Well-appointed bathrooms of a century ago often featured chrome and marble
fixtures. They still can today with this washstand from Urban Archaeology.
The two-by-three-foot top is shown here in a traditional black-veined white
Carrara marble, but is available in 19 other stones and colors.
Chrome legs
are in keeping with Victorian style, or choose brass, nickel or
bronze in a variety of finishes.
The square routed top of this vanity had a
practical application -- to keep water from draining onto the floor. A variety
of edge profiles (or a simple flat top) as well as one and two sink slabs are
available.
A clever little towel bar is built into the legs. The glazed oval basin has
an overflow in the back.
