Curved metal tiles add a new dimension to this kitchen backsplash.

Handmade to order, Arched Border tiles are cast of white bronze, an alloy of copper, manganese, nickel and zinc. The shimmering silver tiles measure 2" x 6" with a slight curve to the projection.

Expect to pay a premium for these distinctive tiles. The backsplash pictured used 30 pieces, and at $54 a tile, cost about $1,600 for tiles alone.

Tiles can be set with a high quality, polymer thin-set mortar. Rocky Mountain Hardware recommends that you leave this job to a pro.

White bronze comes finished in a light, medium or dark brushed "living" patina. The color, sheen and texture of the bronze will continue to change with touch and exposure.

Clean tiles with mild soap and water, not chemicals.
