Learn more about Delta Faucet Company:
by Deborah Holmes, Ebricks.com
Sometimes when you need to wash your hands most, you least want to touch your gleaming kitchen faucet. Delta's Touch2O faucets turn on with a simple tap anywhere on the spout or handle.

If your hands are full or messy during meal prep or clean-up, you can turn on the faucet with your wrist or forearm. The faucet turns off the same way, to keep water from running when you don't need it. Need the water on again? A simple tap turns it on to the same temperature and water flow -- a real plus when doing repetitive tasks like washing crystal or china.

The tap feature is activated by the separate handle. When the handle is in the off position, the faucet won't turn on when tapped. The water flow stops automatically in four minutes, preventing flooding if the faucet is accidentally turned on.

A built-in aerator further saves water -- about 36 ounces a minute compared with standard faucets, according to Delta.

The Pilar model shown here features a pull-down spray head. The spout, arched enough to allow you to fill tall pots, also swivels. The Pilar sells for around $525 and comes in chrome or highly polished stainless finishes.
