Looking like something from a science fiction movie on futuristic living, the Skyport three-tier chandelier is actually based on a 1930s design.
People were eager to bring the sleek Art Deco design of commercial buildings into their own homes. It would be a design trend popular for the next 20 years. Now a half century later, Art Deco design is experiencing a revival.
The original machine-louvered chandelier of this style would have been constructed of aluminum or steel. Rejuvenation's version is solid brass and available in a dozen finishes including the polished nickel shown here.
Frosted glass panels allow some light to shine horizontally, but most is reflected upward. The fixture isn't recommended for vaulted ceilings, and the 32" length cannot be shortened.
