The stylish system uses LEDs (light emitting diodes), which many predict will replace compact fluorescent bulbs in the next decade. Lights, which use a mere 5 watts of power each, are available in satin nickel, brushed bronze and shiny chrome housings. Styles range from fairly traditional looking canisters to gleaming space-age designs. The Flex II systems feature a flexible track which can be bent and then reconfigured. Choose wall or ceiling mount systems. Note that LED systems will not work with dimmer switches. A five-watt LED bulb will last 14 times longer than the equivalent 30-watt halogen bulb, according to the manufacturer. Light from the LEDs is described as "warm white."
