Besides being tricky stuff to work with, traditional contact cement is smelly and highly flammable. DAP's waterborne contact cement removes two of these three objections. With a waterborne base, it is no more smelly than acrylic-latex paint -- and it's nonflammable. I used this product last month as part of a motorhome repair job. Compared with traditional contact cement, I found this product was slightly slower to dry. I also needed to apply more pressure to get my two glued surfaces - in this case, think sheets of plywood - than I would have with traditional contact cement.
