Whenever possible, I've always avoided projects that require contact cement. Besides being tricky stuff to work with, traditional contact cement is smelly and highly flammable.

DAP's waterborne contact cement removes two of these three objections. With a waterborne base, it is no more smelly than acrylic-latex paint -- and it's nonflammable.

I used this product last month as part of a motorhome repair job.

Compared with traditional contact cement, I found this product was slightly slower to dry. I also needed to apply more pressure to get my two glued surfaces - in this case, think sheets of plywood - than I would have with traditional contact cement.

But other than that, it worked like a charm - and didn't stink.
