Sitting atop your roof, the Solar Star quietly and efficiently vents heat and moisture away from your attic. And it does it for free.
As its name implies, this attic fan is powered by a 10-watt solar panel. That means no electricity, no wiring, and a simple installation in 30 minutes or less. The fully assembled unit comes complete with stainless steel mounting screws and one-piece seamless flashing.
The quiet motor spins five polymeric blades. An integral exhaust screen and the solar panel housing are made of the same impact- and wind-resistant material.
The motor and fan are encased in galvanized black-powder-coated steel. The one-piece steel flashing can be used on virtually any roof type and pitch, says the manufacturer.
The solar panel and motor are backed by a five-year warranty, all other components are covered for 10 years.
Choose from three profiles:
- Low: For most roofs.
- Pitched: North facing roofs that need more sun exposure. Also for tile roofs with an add-on tile roof kit.
- High: For homes in locations with heavy snow loads.
Accessories sold separately include:
- Tile roof kit, with special flashing.
- Ad-on solar panel for areas with limited sun exposure, such as heavily shaded roofs.
