Learn more about Hakatai:
by Deborah Holmes, Ebricks.com
The tile mural pictured here is one of 26 patterns that Hakatai will handcraft for you. The design process is easy and fun using the company's online tools.

Repeating pattern murals are made of 3/4" handcut tiles. Based on your color selections, the tiles are assembled on backer paper and sold in 1.15-square-foot sheets. Use the sheet as a single accent or combine a number of sheets to fill a wall.

The pattern as shown retails for $143 per square foot. Price depends on tiles selected.

Budget a little more modest? You can still satisfy your creativity. Select up to ten colors of tile and create a custom random blend or gradient. Prices start at $18 to $20 per square foot. Sheets of single colors can be as little as $5 per square foot.

And if you're really a do-it-yourselfer, you can buy bags of the tiny tiles and create your own patterns.
