Here's one of the new generation of high efficiency toilets that won't break the bank.

The Home Depot house brand Glacier Bay HET uses 1.28 gallons per flush, and complies with the Environmental Protection Agency's WaterSense and High Efficiency standards.

Available only in basic white porcelain, the toilet doesn't have the bells and whistles of some other brands. But its price, $128 (August 2008) is less than that of many standard toilets. It's substantially cheaper than other high efficiency toilets.

In order to be labled WaterSense by the EPA, toilets are rated on efficiency as well as performance. Low flush toilets that have to be flushed more than once obviously don't save water. But according to customer reviews, one flush does the job with the Glacier Bay HET.

The all-in-one package includes the toilet seat and wax ring with mounting bolt set.

At 16-1/2" from floor to seat, the bowl is compliant with requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
