When the 2008 Major League Baseball season opened in Japan, players were asked what they most enjoyed about the trip.
The surprising answer for several players was ... the toilets. Specifically, computerized wonders with heated seats, warm water cleansing jets and air driers.
Now you can have a major league experience in your bathroom. The C100 Chloe is Toto's entry level "washlet." The high-tech toilet seat comes in round or elongated models and is easy to install on many makes of toilets, according to the company.
Cold toilet seats -- as well as toilet paper -- can be a thing of the past. The washlet's anti-microbial plastic seat maintains a minimum temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit. When you're done with, well, what you came to do, touch the attached control pad to activate a water wand that provides a stream of warm, aerated water. You can remotely direct the water to front or back. Then tap another button and you'll be dried with warm air.
Hit flush and the wand retracts, sanitizing itself in the process. The toilet flushes water and waste away. The device is fully UL approved and has safety switches to prevent overheating and running dry.
You'll need a 120 volt ground-fault protected outlet near the toilet's fresh water supply. Minimum water pressure is 20 pounds per square inch; maximum is 80 psi.
It's a bit more pricey than most luxury toilet seats, or even many laptop computers. But then you never asked your laptop to do what this seat does.
